REBEKAH GARNER
From a young age, I’ve always been fascinated with caring for people. From playing “nurse” when my sisters were sick, to helping my aging grandparents with health challenges, to working part-time in my Dad’s medical practice, I’ve loved seeing people thrive when they experience individualized care. Fast forward a few years, and I began to wonder how I could support women in their pregnancy and birth experiences. In my own pregnancy and birth experiences, I came to understand the profound impact of other women’s voices--their steady encouragements, empowering presence and compassionate empathy towards me. My husband was an amazing support at my births (he’s joked about joining our doula team here at Golden Hour!), but there was something about the women around me that just…understood and moved towards me in ways I knew I wanted to be able to offer my own daughters one day.
Becoming a doula has been an incredible journey, giving me the opportunity to be a witness to one of the most amazing miracles--an experience that never fails to fill me with awe and gratitude. I feel truly privileged each time I am invited to support a family as they welcome their new little one into the world. My heartbeat is to discover how I can come alongside and encourage the strength I see given to women for this good work. I believe that children are a huge gift; one that stretches our capacities and helps us discover a love that truly transforms us.
I am married to my husband Nathan, who is my steady rock and favorite person. Together we have the privilege of knowing and parenting our ten children, ages 4-18 who daily keep me present to the goodness of life, humble, laughing and learning how to ask thoughtful questions (thanks teenagers!). I enjoy unwinding with a good fiction book, sipping coffee on our porch, homeschooling our children, and indulging in a podcast or two (or five!).

MIRANDA MARTIN
I fell into doula work after I saw the massive difference it made for my last two births to have a support person in the room. Having a doula bolstered my confidence that my body knew was it was doing and helped me embrace the hard work of labor with grit and strength. My heart’s desire as a doula is that you’d feel safe and seen in your most vulnerable moments, but that you’d also feel incredibly empowered for your labor!
It is a joy of mine to get to know each couple as they prepare for birth. What an honor to be welcomed into such a tender space for families as their birth doula. I believe the way couples will engage their unique fears, hopes, worries and expectations about birth beforehand will drastically change the way they experience their labor and birth during and afterward. I truly see it as a partnership where we are working together to create a restful space for your heart and mind so that your intelligent body can settle into the good work of bringing baby here!
I am absolutely a coffee snob and foodie! When given free time I love reading a good book (anything from theology to children’s classics), going on a nature walk with one of my five children or walking with my parents who live next door. I truly live a charmed life!

WHY A PARTNERSHIP?
Choosing a doula is an investment in an evidence-based approach to your birth. It’s also a deeply personal decision, as you are inviting someone into your sacred birth experience. We want to ensure you know exactly who will be laboring alongside you. Often, birth doulas will rely on a back-up doula to step in for extended labors, unexpected illness, or travel commitments. While this can work for many, we recognize the potential gap in care this model can create for families. We’ve chosen to work as doula partners to offer a seamless, consistent birth experience for our clients—making our doula support sustainable and fulfilling, because we LOVE what we do!
By choosing our partnership, you get the benefit of two doulas instead of one: two perspectives, two personalities, and the peace of mind knowing that one of us will be at your birth. We believe this model helps protect your birth space and allows us to show up for you in the healthiest, most holistic way possible—from consult to postpartum celebration.
